A2 Florisel – Perfect & Cozy Apartment on the Beach

Perfect as described!

My husband and I visited Ana's place for about a week for our honeymoon. I loved the idea of vacationing "off the beaten path" for a more cultural experience. We are a very outgoing couple and loved they idea of getting out and exploring! We flew into Santo Domingo, where we stayed 2 days before taking the Bavaro Express to Punta Cana. Ana offered to provide transportation from the bus station for $15 but because I had done extensive research on the area and knew the bus stopped not too far outside the Florisel community( El Dorado), I figured we could just walk the few minutes to the apartments. Big mistake. Long story short, after leaving SD 30mins late, we asked the bus driver (in my limited Spanish) to let us know when we arrived at El Dorado...he agreed and did not. We ended up at the end of the line and were bombarded with people trying to charge us way too much to take us back 6 mins up the road. We finally reached the area an hour later than we were supposed to to meet Ana. Instead of being understanding of how frustrated my husband and I were to start our honeymoon like this...she complained a few times that she hadn't ate and had been waiting. We felt the same way! It was hot, we were hungry and had an incredibly long trip. It was completely out of our hands. Save yourself the time just pay the $15 to be picked up and taken directly to the apartment. After that she did give us great information and did a great job showing us around the apartment/community. Aside from that hiccup, we had an amazing time! The apartment is so clean and cute...a GREAT size for two people. The WiFi is amazing and the water was hot. The staff (especially Bernardo) were incredibly helpful. Again, my husband and I know some Spanish and found it fairly easy to navigate the area. The highest rated restaurants(based on TripAdvisor) are all within walking distance. We visited Dahlia's and Joy probably once a day (it's delicious and SO affordable). We also loved this hip little restaurant on the beach TOC Beach Bar (about 10min walk to the left). It had great views and great service and DELICIOUS food and drinks. There was a pharmacy, two grocery stores, money exchange and several bars within a 5-10 mins (Website hidden by Airbnb) car needed. I even got my nails done at a cute salon (Palma) where I paid $16 for a Shellac manicure! The apartment is also a gated community within a gated community so we felt safe walking to and from, even at night. When on the beach, please expect to be hassled by the guys that work the shopping center next door. A firm (No gracias) usually did the trick for us and after a few days, they knew us and no longer bothered us. We NEVER had an issue getting a chair. We actually...

We absolutely loved our stay in this perfect little apartment. It is situated in a small complex which is right on the beach, and with many little restaurants around it. The place itself is very charming, has nice flooring, furnishings, amenities, etc. -- everything worked exactly as expected. Nice gas rangetop for cooking. Hana was even nice enough to provide us with some basic necessities/toiletries we'd need for our first couple days. Ana, who helped check us in, is such a sweet, friendly person, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again just because of her! All in all, it's an excellent location, great value for your money, and I'd recommend this little apartment to anyone.

Great location of apartment near the beach with private sun umbrellas and deckchairs. Kilometers of beaches to walk! The place was clean, calm and cozy. A change of towels is possible every two days. Good spanish restaurant is right next to the apartment. The host Ana speaks fluently English which is really valuable in DR :) She was very helpful to us - showed us restaurants, shops, gave us some advices about locals etc. I would really recommend this place to stay in!

Hana and Ana are great! Ana is super helpful and can get you in contact with great people for excursions and taxis. The place is right next to the beach with many shops and restaurants near by. Also the best popsicles are just a block away :) highly recommend staying here.

We had a great time at Apartmentos Florisel! The location is excellent, just a few steps from the beautiful beach and short walking distance to the restaurants and shops. It is a very touristy area, but it is a great alternative to the big resorts. Ana, the host, was very friendly and informative. She gave us tips on the where to go and what to avoid. The apartment is accurately described; comfortable, clean and safe.

Ana was amazing! She gave us a tour, explained everything in detail, and even offered to drive us around the neighborhood as we are looking for property! Beautiful apartment and very well maintained grounds. Security was friendly and Bernardo was always close by to offer assistance! Enjoyed our stay immensely!
