Luxurious Studio in Cap Cana (Fishing Lodge) for rent

Ricardo is a great host. He responds in minutes and is very helpful. Also, his tips on what to do were great especially the beaches. The apartment was phenomenal! Super modern and clean. The complex itself is very beautiful and relaxing. I won't stay anywhere else in Punta Canta.

We stayed for 5 nights from 4/27-5/2 and really couldn't have asked for a better stay. The unit is as advertised in the photos and was a great place to come back to after being out at the beaches all day. If you're looking for more of a resort/hotel experience this is NOT it. Essentially, you have your own comfortable place, you come and go as you please with minimal interaction with other guests, which suited my g/f and I perfectly. The balance is that your own place doesn't come with maid service, room service, etc. So if you're good with that then this place will suit you just fine. I highly recommend renting a car, as Cap Cana is relatively isolated so having the freedom to come and go was perfect. Everything is within an easy 10-20 minute drive once you get acclimated to your surroundings. Juanillo Beach, Playa Blanca, Caleton Beach Club...all AWESOME beaches that were mostly empty (unlike some of the resort beaches we visited, which were all packed). The pools at the Fishing Lodge are all excellent as well, and we certainly took advantage. Supermarket, restaurants, etc. all within an easy drive as well, including the airport which was a 5-10 minute ride. Ricardo was prompt with his responses and very helpful when we had some minor inconveniences with WiFi (which were resolved quickly). My only complaint was that on two consecutive mornings (7am) the fire alarm in our building went off, the first morning for 20 minutes (only after we called the front desk twice to complain was it turned off). Other than that, everything was great. I'd go back and stay in Ricardo's place in a heart beat. I need to get back to Caleton Beach Club ASAP!!

The studio was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We got a great deal and really enjoyed our stay at Fishing Lodge. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking. When I asked for a can opener it was sent within about 10 minutes! The studio is right in front of one of the pools and has a nice outdoor patio area. We were sorry to leave, we had a great vacation and would recommend all guests check out Juanilo beach, one of the most beautiful I've seen. Thank you Ricardo!

The apartment at Fishing Lodge is great for relaxation. The quarters are beautiful and comfortable, with thick walls that keep noise out. Great TV options. Staff is courteous and attentive. So, if you're a couple that wants mostly peace and quiet, this is a good place to be. For the same reason that this is a good place for couples, singles who would like to enjoy activities and nightlife would prefer other options, such as in the nearby city of Bávaro. Fishing Lodge is located in Cap Cana, which is a huge, private residential/resort area. Sort of like a mini-city. While Cap Cana has some of the most beautiful beaches on this side of the island, there are fewer local people and fewer things to do. This leaves you to spend more time at the resort complex's restaurants and bars, which are expensive. Unfortunately, there is also a cost barrier to leaving Cap Cana, as taxis leaving the property charge $40 to go practically anywhere else. After booking, Ricardo sent a PDF booklet of recommendations and expected prices for things like taxis and food, which was helpful, but many of the recommendations were for places off-property. TL; DR - the apartment is lovely and clean and mostly worth the roughly $175 price but it is located in a very quiet, touristy part of the island. Go here to relax, but not to explore.

The apartment is beautiful. It was clean and very comfortable. Great mattress. A beautiful patio with a short walk to two different amazing pools. Ricardo was great to deal with. He accommodated us when I made a scheduling error and was kind in the process.

El lugar es perfecto para conocer todas las playas de Capcana y Punta cana Village. Hay gente hospedada, pero la necesaria. La piletas y todo lo del hotel funciona bien. A veces, pero no por culpa de Ricardo, la internet es algo lenta. El departamento es excelente, muy bien cuidado y con salida directa a una piscina. Los precios de alrededor son accesibles. Sin dudas, es la opción más barata y mejor para quedarse en Capcana. Si tienen dudas, comparen cuánto sale la misma habitación pero pagándola como huésped de hotel. Por ultimo, Ricardo siempre atentó a los problemitas que surgieron, todos solucionarles. Altamente recomendable.

Place was great. Nice clean as in the pictures. Ricardo had bikes available and was very responsive. It's a good idea if you don't want to get "cabin fever" to rent a car and explore some of the other beaches and areas in DR.
