Comfortable 1BR Condo in the heat of Bavaro

Good, spacious apartment with balcony situated close to the beach

Esta es mi segunda vez en el departamento de Micaela y lo pasamos muy bien. El lugar es tal cual se describe en las fotos, este año tiene 2 aire acondicionados nuevos uno en el comedor y otro en la habitación. Micaela estuvo accesible y atenta a nuestras necesidades, gracias por todo.

We really enjoyed our time at Palm Suites. It is in a fantastic location. You can walk to the beach in about 7 minutes and there are plenty of options for shopping and dining within a 15 minute walk. There is also a truck that comes by the complex several times a week selling fresh fruits and veggies. The apartment is plenty big for 2-4 people and the bed is very comfortable. It has a great second floor balcony overlooking the pool. Michaela was a wonderful host and we would absolutely recommend staying here.

Pretty quite and relaxing apartment with a nice balcony with BBQ and view over the pool. Michaela is service minded and helped us when there was issues with the internet. It was a nice stay all in all and I don't have anything bad to say. The value is great!

Michaela did a great job welcoming me, including arranging private transport from the airport (and return transport), buying a couple groceries for me before I arrived late at night, and meeting with me to explain details about the property and show me nearby places of interest, shops, restaurants, and beach access on a map. She was very willing to answer questions throughout my stay, such as about money and local customs, and she always responded very promptly. She also quickly helped me out when I accidentally locked all of my valuables inside of the safe! (That was all my fault; the safe operates properly, though written instructions would have been helpful.) The condo itself was very nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable and the home was spacious. Keep in mind that this is a tropical location, so it is very warm, and somewhat hard to get cool unless you are willing to pay the electricity to crank the AC.** The home's starting supplies included plenty of bath towels, two rolls of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, two bars of hand soap, and an unlimited supply of bottled water (in a water bubbler in the kitchen). I found that it was unnecessary to use the water heater at all, as it was very comfortable to take natural temperature (cool) showers. The pool area was very nice, and the condo community itself felt safe with a nice group of expats from around the world, mostly American and Canadian, I think. The closest walk to the beach was about 10 minutes, which was a little farther than I had anticipated, but not bad. I'd recommend one day with the beach to the left (west), and the rest of the time with the beach to the right (east). My favorite nearby restaurant (5 minute walk) was Fresco Cafe & Restaurant, as they had wonderful Spanish food (also Italian and other), excellent service, and great lunch pricing. [** I was unnecessarily afraid that electricity would be expensive, so I did not use the AC other than the first night, instead relying on the fans and leaving sliding doors and windows open (all have screens) to get a nice breeze, and my total electricity bill for 5 days was only $9.]
