There are some things to do for free in Punta Cana.
1. Go to Macao Beach
Many people every year choose to go to the beach to spend their holidays. It’s a unique place for those who love relaxing under the bright sun and swimming in the sea. I invite you to go to Macao Beach. This marvelous beach will be your inspiration for new ideas. You have nothing to do but just come and relax on that beach, and/or watch the sunrise.
It is a cozy nook for a getaway with your beloved or a private shelter all by yourself. You will create a connection with nature and the ocean. Is not it a wonderful day when you are on the long and sandy beach, playing football or frisbee? It’s a good way to make new acquaintances and to meet interesting people who can become a part of your life.
Making sandcastles with your friends or kids can be the best pastime during your vacation in Punta Cana. Do you need to pay anything to make your team so happy? – Of course, no. It is free! Just give them your time and smile because it’s the best gift you could ever give anybody.
If you are staying near Bavaro Beach, you need to drive to Manati Park, pass the Cocotal Golf and County Club, Cana Bay Golf course, Rancho Boogie and turn right on Letrero Macao. And here you are! Relish your time on Macao Beach.
2. See Local Agriculture
If you and your best team is wondering to see the agriculture of Punta Cana, then go to that place. There are a lot of animals such as chickens, goats, horses, iguanas, etc. I can assume that your kids will be happy after this trip. They are allowed to stroke horses. The kind workers of this farm will tell you some interesting things about how they are growing plants and dealing with these cute animals. I would recommend you to leave some tips for them. It is not necessary but it could be a good gesture.
After a meeting with nature, you can go to the Playa Blanca. There is a fee of US$20/person that will be charged at the entrance to Punta Cana Resort if you tell them that you are going to the beach. But the entrance to the farm is free of charge. So, you can go to the farm and after that to the beach – all for free! It is your spot to fill yourself with new energy. Restart your powers since new discoveries and horizons are waiting for you to see them.
3. Visit Higuey and Cathedral
Punta Cana has remarkable neighboring towns. One of them is Higuey. This town with a population of 150 thousand people is famous for its pleasant atmosphere and a cathedral. The main attraction of Higuey is the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia, which was built in 1971. Among other attractions of the town is the altar of the old cathedral decorated with gold leaf. Every part of this place is seemingly filled with antique history which will make you wonder and wonder every minute.
After your time in this cathedral, you can take a rest in the beautiful natural park, called La Encantada Ecological Park. There you will see a lot of green trees and flowers blooming for you. These skies of blue and clouds of white will make your bright blessed day very unforgettable.
4. Go to Downtown of Bavaro
Go for a walk to Bavaro Downtown, near San Juan and Jumbo shopping centers and Coco Bongo club. It is fully free and you have a lot of things to do in this area. For example, you have an opportunity to watch various exciting events. Feel comfortable to sit in the park nearby to observe all of it hearing birds’ songs. You can also find many funny turtles in that park. It has everything you need to enjoy your time: shadow, swings, beautiful trees, and a light breeze.
Walk to shopping centers to choose souvenirs for your closest people or look at residents’ style and what they prefer to wear. Those malls are filled with shopping, entertainment, services, restaurants, and just pleasant emotions!
5. Riding a Bicycle to Can Cana
Take a day for riding a bicycle to Can Cana. It is fully free to go camping. After the ride, you can swim and relax at one of the best beaches in the Dominican Republic – Juanillo Beach. Keep your eye on cool yachts and how they are sailing from one side to another. Listen to yourself! How are you feeling at this moment? It is the most important part of your life when you hear your thoughts or talking to yourself. All of that will help you to reinvent yourself.
If you like swimming all day, you are in the right spot. The weather is wonderful, the water is warm and clean. You can bath and watch small fishes in the water. In fact, the sea is not the only reason to spend your vacation at the beach. Sun, sand, and fish can be added to the list. You may see some sea stars and seashells there.
