What do I need to do before going to the Dominican Republic in 2024? List of measures and documents.

Previous year has been rough for all of us. There are new quarantine rules and regulations every day. Many tourists travel not as much as they used to. In spite of this, you still can treat yourself to a vacation of your dreams.

Punta Cana, The Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is a completely safe country. The government strictly follows all the quarantine rules and sanitary norms. Such measures help to contain pandemic outbreaks and enhance the restoration of tourism.

Good news: the Dominican Republic is open for tourists all over the world from July 1, 2020.

We prepared a list of all the necessary measures and documents, so you could forget about troubles and enjoy your vacation to the fullest.

1. Take the necessary documents with you:

  • Your international passport;
  • Round-trip tickets;
  • Printout of hotel or apartment reservations for the entire period of your stay in the DR.

2. Fill in the online application before your trip

Before your trip fill the online application form on the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic.

3. COVID-19 test upon arrival to the DR

Sometimes it is required to show the negative COVID-19 test at the airport. If you have a connecting flight in Turkey, it is obligatory to have a copy of your test results with you.

4. Coronavirus test upon arrival home

It is necessary to provide a copy of your COVID-19 test upon returning home from the DR. You can take a quick test at the IMG Clinic and Centro Medico Punta Cana before departure. Other than that, you can take a quick test at the Punta Cana Village residence (you can get there if you turn right in front of the Banreservas Bank). This place is literally a 1-minute drive from Punta Cana airport.

Moreover, it is also important to remember about the curfew restrictions. The curfew time is from 7:00 p.m. to 5 a.m. Although free transit for cars available until 9:00 p.m.

However, the curfew restrictions will not hinder your vacation, as the tourist complexes continue to operate normally. Although city events and discos are still prohibited during the quarantine.
